Ken- Your comment about any man that says one woman is enough for his entire life, is not being truthful with you- he will stay wiht one, bbut think & dream of others. DUH!! Us women do the SAME thing! It isn't exclusive to just men :-) We will stay loyal when married, but don't think we are thinking of our husbands everytime we have a daydream or a sexual fantasy. I thought it was only men who everytime they saw a woman-they wanted to know what it would be like to be in bed with her. Then I grew up......... :-) Everytime I see a man- I wonder what it would be like to stop the elevator- have a quickie, meet in a hotel room, blah blah blah. I'm sure my husband has similar thoughts. The thought, I don't think, is so bad, if you don't act on it.

Sexuality in men and women
by imissthedub inafter responding to the nekkid women thread i got to thinking that i would like to hear more thoughts on this.
am i alone in thinking that lots of women have as great of interest in sex as men?
that they love it just as much or more?

Perfectionism is it controlling pain?
by Imbue ini'm posting this writing exercise in response to dana's thread on self esteem.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=31816&site=3.
i have asked myself if perfectionism was a way for me to control criticism which is a source of pain.

HI! I came up with this name PERFECTION SEEKER as a "NOT" type of name. When I was a witness, EVERYTHING had to be perfect, me, my speech, my attitude, my dress, my thoughts- it was enough to send ANYONE to a looney bin! Now, I try to be MY best, not PERFECT, or according to anyone else's standards, but be true to myself, and my standards. Trying to attain perfection is a losing battle, and it sucks!

Once I read a survey of how often men think of sex- once per minute- or whatever- I thought- is that all?!?! I must be a nympho then- I think about sex twice per minute- on a slow day! I think of sex all day long- different places, different positions, I could have sex 10 times per day- and would never complain :-) I once went 3 days without after surgery- but that is the record. Sex, as well as making love, is awesome, why deprive yourself? :-)
Its free (for some of us-lol) fat free (use fat free coolwhip-lol) burns a few calories, and can make you smile for hours.
I can't imagine ANYONE not wanting to have sex!So, thats my two cents worth! Great post! :-)

WHAT DID YOU HATE about being an elder, m.s.,pione
by minimus in.
i hated all the elders who thought they had to tell someone what had to be done and they themselves weren't doing it.
what about you?

I hated giving talks. The men had it MUCH easier in my opinion- read some scriptures, say a funny thing here or there- then you're done. The women- ugh- you had to write up some 5 minute crap- with a 30 second intro like you were just meeting them for the first time "That reminds me of a scripture" then in 4 minutes- you win them over- then the last 30 seconds of crap- like- now that we got that behind us, lets finish......blah blah blah. It was so phoney! And some of the sisters would be so nervous! Man- if I had to do that part all over again- would I do it differently- and not one ounce of a heart rate changing. What a crock. (I have posted so many posts- and the last sentence always is what a crock- but really- that sums it all up)
You know what else I hated? WALKING IN! I can't tell you how many times I FORCED myself to get dressed- drive to the hall- then said SCREW IT- and never even walked in. Walking in was the hardest part- you knew what was going to happen- knew it would be 2 long hours- you'd have to paste on a smile- ugh! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo glad to be out!

Phoney Baloney
by Perfection Seeker inone of my biggest pet peeves of being a witness was when the overseer would come visit, and everyone was sooo nice, sweet to everyone, no clicks, they'd arrive early, stay after & talk, everyone would raise their hands, give "heartfelt" answers, looked nice, sang loud, just the model congregation.
yet, when the overseer wasnt there, people would come late, leave early, not be nice to everyone, blah blah.
i guess to me- if they knew what they "should" be doing, why not do it all the time?

How about the memorial? When all the newbies & interested people are there? Same thing as overseers visit- people showing up early- putting on quite the show. What a crock! My mother is queen bee of it all. I did get talked into going to the memorial this year- and I saw it all over again- it was really pathetic! Same thing with conventions- everyone smiling, all happy, shaking hands- blah blah blah. Real hard to see when you're like 15- critical anyway- then see through everyone. Did I say what a crock yet? :-)

I asked an elder this once- I said I almost didn't want to come during an overseers visit, cause it was so phoney- I didn't recognize anyone. He said- well, when you have company at your house- don't you set the best dishes, have excellent food, dress nice- kind of "do up" for company? Thats what we do with the CO comes.
I can handle alot- but not double standards & hypocrisy.
Anyone with similar "phoney baloney" stories?

How to get reinstated
by snowboardingguy inwhat kind of questions am i gonna get asked when i go to get reinstated?
how hard is gonna be?
-
Perfection Seeker
If you are going back in name only- just to get label off, and aren't trying to be a good witness- my advice to you: Lie Lie Lie. I wanted to get reinstated so my family could talk to me. I said I pray more than ever, read the bible, do research, life was meaningless w/out Jehovah, the friend & family- and how I would NEVER do anything to displease Jehovah again. I said I learned from my mistake, and would NEVER do it again, and that I crave the association, and that I truly felt Jehovah had already forgiven me, it was just a matter of getting the elders to know & see I was repentent. Then, I asked if I could get a bible study, to help strengthen me up again. They said SURE! Course, I just never did get around to scheduling that.... :-) GOOD LUCK!
